Traditional project management methods are designed for and provide significant assistance to project managers. But projects are done by more people than the project manager and people usually have to do other work that is not directly related to a particular project. There is an urgent need for a solution that helps people to work together to complete many projects and tasks.
Projects have three broad phases: planning, implementing and closing. Traditional project management methods and software largely focus on developing an effective plan for the project manager. Implementation involves looking for variations to the plan and taking steps to bring the project back to the project plan.
Feedback from people implementing the plan is largely in the form of after activity estimates of the % complete of the tasks they are responsible for. There is little real-time interaction with the action/ToDo's being done to complete the project. Yet most collaboration between people occurs at the action/ToDo level, and not at the task level that is managed by traditional project management.
TASKey has extended project management methods to make it easier for people doing a project to see how they need to contribute and to automatically report progress in real-time. The method also handles corporate tasks and other project tasks, so every person can receive a comprehensive ToDo list that includes the project ToDo's plus all other relevant ToDo's.
Web software (called TASKey Me2Team for small projects and TASKey TEAM for enterprises) allows people doing the project to be able to better contribute. In addition, the project manager and other stakeholders can receive real-time information of what is actually happening. So everyone can make better more timely decisions.
