Me2Team System Requirements

Only web browsers are needed to use TASKey Me2Team Online, as this is hosted by TASKey.  There is an alternative for you to host Me2Team on-site using your own servers (contact sales for details).

Client Web Browser Requirements

  • Windows: Microsoft Internet Explorer 7+, modern browsers such as Firefox, Safari, Chrome
  • Macintosh: modern browsers such as Firefox, Safari, Chrome
  • Screen resolution: 1024x768 (or higher)
  • Colour depth: 256 colours (High Color or better highly recommended)
  • Both Cookies and JavaScript must be enabled
  • If your Internet Explorer browser does not have "play animation in web pages" ticked under Tools -> Internet Options -> Advanced -> Mutimedia (in list)...then you cannot see the Print icons when you open/generate a normal Me2Team report (eg. ToDo List)
  • The mobile pages are optimised for less bandwith, smaller screens and less advanced browsers

Me2Team On-Site Server Requirements

Me2Team uses three main components, and possibly a document server (for optional documents feature):

  • a Database server (MS-SQL server)
  • a Web Server
  • Browsers on Client Machines or Mobile devices
  • a Document Server (optional feature, could be the web-server in some cases)

Server requirements are for the on-site version which is installed on the customer organisation's server(s).

Database server and Web server capacity depends on the number of users concurrently accessing the database.  Usage patterns vary widely between organizations and different levels of activity.  However as a guide, a single server is sufficient to handle 1000 users.

For installations up to 1000 users, the Database server and Web Server may be run on the same computer.

For installations with more than 1000 users, it is recommended that separate computers be used for the Database server and Web Servers.

Further scaling using Network Load Balancing can be used for very large numbers of users or high availability solutions.

Minimum Server Requirements

Up to 500 Users:

Application server:

  • Pentium with dual core 3GHz or greater
  • 4GB RAM
  • 80GB available hard disk space
  • Microsoft Windows 2008 R2
  • IIS
  • Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2
  • Microsoft ASP.NET Framework 4.0

1)  For sites without Microsoft SQL Server, the Microsoft SQL Express database may be deployed.

  • 8GB RAM
  • 100 GB available hard disk space
  • Microsoft Windows 2008 R2
  • IIS
  • Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2
  • Microsoft ASP.NET Framework 4.0

Network Speed: 100Mbps

More than 1000 users:

Further scaling using Network Load Balancing can be used for very large numbers of users or high availability solutions.  More web servers and more CPUs for the database server can be added as load requirements increase with added users.  The first step is to separate the web server and the database server as shown below.

Document Server Requirements  (optional feature)

If the optional document server feature is used, a server similar to the web-server can be used for serving documents.  The documents can be stored either on the document server itself or on a network drive.

Allow as much extra hard drive space as the total size of documents stored, since they are not compressed after being uploaded.  (Document storage space not included in above hard disk figures).
